Because the technical file for the CE marking is useful to companies
It is essential to produce the technical documentation that certifies the conformity of a machine as it is required by the Machinery Directive, in order to draw up the CE Declaration showing that the produced machine complies with the European safety requirements and it is therefore possible to proceed with the CE Marking. The file that Brentech provides consists of a series of standardized documents that the manufacturer must keep at their headquarters and set at disposal for the necessary checks in the event of verification by the competent authorities.
Why are many companies today not compliant with the technical documentation for the CE marking of their machine?
Not all companies complied with the Machinery Directive. Despite its coming into force in 2006, it was transposed and implemented in Italy through the Legislative Decree only on 27 January 2010.
A lot of historic companies have continued to operate with old or even without old machine directives, neglecting the issue also due to lack of knowledge of the importance of technical documentation for the purposes of the CE marking of their machines. Sometimes this lack is also linked to organizational or economic reasons.
Why did the customer applied to Brentech?
Our customer some time ago developed a production plant without caring about the CE Declaration. After meeting us, he realized how important it was to bring what had been previously manufactured into compliance and decided to ask us for support in producing all the technical documentation necessary to proceed with the CE marking of the machine, declaring its conformity to the safety requirements and health, provided for by the relevant directives.
What kind of support activities did Brentech provide?
The first main aspect we have dealt with is the analysis of the multiple legal requirements and regulations related to the process such as: INAIL requirements, machinery directive, PED and ATEX.
The activity continued with the preparation of the functional diagrams and the analysis of the safety issues relating to the process plant up to the drafting of the documentation for the CE Declaration of Conformity of the customer’s machine. Thanks to our support we have increased the safety level of the system and therefore reduced the risk associated with the use.
