The project we introduce here today is about a welding equipment which we developed for a customer operating in the welding process of the aeronautical field; it is a mechanical structure specially designed to grant the best quality standards during the production of an exhaust pipe for aircraft.
During the planning phase we took into account several requirements:
- to keep an excellent alignment between the metal sheet edges; to guarantee a defect-free joint;
- to ensure a perfect contact between the sheet to be welded and the supporting surface, in this way permitting a perfect heat dissipation during the welding process;
- to keep the tightening;
- to ensure the easy positioning of the flaps.
As far as the material for the structure, we chose a painted steel. The equipment is now operative at the customer’s site, helping to raise the quality of the product and reducing processing times.
